Fylde Police welcome a new Geographic Inspector

Fylde Police have welcomed a new Geographic Inspector – Kate Buckingham.

Inspector Buckingham joined Lancashire Constabulary in 2006 and has worked in a variety of roles – in both uniform and as a detective.

She has a strong understanding of neighbourhood policing due to her time as Community Beat Manager based at Blackpool South. This saw her acting as the go-to contact for issues and incidents in her designated area and working on a number of multi-agency projects.

Inspector Buckingham also has experience working on child protection and child exploitation projects during her time as a detective. Kate was also a key part in implementing the Constabulary’s new Crime Management Unit at the force’s Headquarters at Hutton, which looks to improve the way the force records crime and manages crime data integrity.

Inspector Buckingham is looking forward to taking on her new role.

She said: “I am really looking forward to coming back to front line policing and leading a fantastic team.

“I am also looking forward to working with our local partners to ensure we get the best outcomes for victims of crime and make Fylde a great place to live, work, and visit.

“If they haven’t done so already, I would encourage people to tell us their concerns via our Lancashire Talking survey. This means we can act and deal with the issues that matter the most to the community.”
