Skelmersdale man charged with string of shoplifting offences

Thursday, June 5, 2025

We have charged a man with a string of shoplifting offences across Skelmersdale.

It relates to incidents between March and May where around £1500 worth of stock, including cleaning products and meat was stolen from multiple stores.

Earlier this week a 38-year-old man was arrested and we can tell you that Daniel Fyles, 38, of Windrows, Skelmersdale has been charged with 25 counts of theft from a shop.

Yesterday, 4th June 2025, he appeared at Preston Magistrates Court where he was bailed to appear again in August.

Operation Vulture is Lancashire Constabulary’s response to shoplifting across the county, backed by Lancashire's Police and Crime Commissioner Clive Grunshaw.

The operation sees dedicated officers undertaking hotspot patrolling, increasing their visibility in targeted areas and creating strong partnerships with retailers across the county to better share intelligence, get a deeper understanding of retail crime and identify more offenders.
