Preston has welcomed a new temporary Chief Inspector, Helen Bevan, who will be responsible for Response Policing across the city.
Chief Inspector Bevan joined Lancashire Constabulary in 2009 at the age of 21, spending five years as a Response PC at Preston before moving into a role as an Armed Response Officer in the Firearms team, first at Preston and then at Blackpool.
Following this, she has worked in various roles as both a Sergeant and Inspector including Response, Custody and Target Team. She is also a Bronze Public Order and Public Safety Commander.
In 2022, she moved to Police Headquarters and played a key part in the implementation of the Constabulary’s Target Operating Model Review.
Speaking about her new role, Chief Inspector Bevan said: ‘It’s great to be back at South Division where I started my career on Response 15 years ago. I have always loved being an operational officer and I’m really looking forward to supporting the Response teams that provide around the clock protection to our communities.”
Chief Inspector Scott Boast will now take responsibility of Response Policing across Chorley, South Ribble and West Lancashire.
