Officers from Rossendale Neighbourhood Policing Team were out on Friday (13th June 2025) tackling speeding concerns following issues raised about road safety by local residents.
They were out across ten different locations in the borough including Manchester Road, Haslingden, Burnley Road, Weir, and Booth Road, Edgeside, all of which had been identified as a hotpot locations for concern on the police community messaging service Lancashire Talking.
The operation was throughout the day and into the evening, and resulted in the following:
Officers were also joined by Lancashire Parking Services to visit two locations, Bank Street in Rawtenstall and Dale Street in Haslingden, educating the public around the laws of parking their vehicles. The Neighbourhood Team were also out in local anti-social behaviour hotspot locations, where the community have raised concerns about activity.
Neighbourhood Sergeant for Rossendale, Paul Marsden, said: “We have been told by our communities that speeding and road safety are real concerns for them. Once again it has been great to be out working with partners to tackle the issues that matter most to our residents.
“We will continue to actively work with them to address concerns of our communities and this day of action is just a small example of the kind of activity we do day-in-day-out.
