New Geographical Inspector for Pendle and the Ribble Valley

Thursday, August 22, 2024

Pendle and the Ribble Valley welcomes a new neighbourhood Inspector to the team, committed to working with the community and partners to tackle crime head on and help residents feel, and be safe.

Inspector Rob Grey is a seasoned Inspector, managing neighbourhood teams of officers and PCSOs to problem solve with partners, work closely with communities on issues that matter most to them, and tackle organised crime.

Rob started with Lancashire Constabulary in 2005 over in Burnley on a response team, where he spent the best part of three years learning on the job before moving over to Padiham as a Community Beat Manager. After six years Rob moved over to the Operations Support Unit where he remained for four years before going back to response in Pendle. In 2017 Rob was promoted to Sergeant and worked across all briefing bases in the division. Then in 2020 Rob transferred to the Burnley Neighbourhood Policing Team as Sergeant before being promoted temporarily to Inspector in 2022, becoming substantive last year.

"I've been really fortunate in my career to have worked across a range of different departments and areas, and have seen a lot of what we do, and what we can do.

"Having been the neighbourhood Inspector in Burnley and Rossendale, I bring a lot of knowledge and experience of community policing, and I’m here to make sure we are tackling the issues that matter most to our residents.

“I really look forward to getting to know and work with you to keep Pendle and the Ribble Valley safe. The best way we can do that is if you tell us what your concerns are. You can do this by signing up to Lancashire Talking, where you can also stay up to date and hear directly from our officers and PCSOs working within your community, www.stayintheknow.co.uk.

"I'm also mindful that being able to contact us is really important for residents - after all, we are a neighbourhood team here to tackle neighbourhood issues - so please do find your local officer and contact them (non-emergency only) by visiting https://www.lancashire.police.uk/your-area/east-division/pendle/ https://www.lancashire.police.uk/your-area/east-division/ribble-valley/ - remember, in an emergency it's always 999.”
