Man arrested over drugs offences in Rawtenstall

We have arrested a man on suspicion of drugs offences following a proactive vehicle stop in Rawtenstall.

Officers from our Rural Task Force signalled for the Range Rover to stop as it was travelling along Bury Road, Rawtenstall.

A search of the vehicle found seven large vacuum bags of cannabis, a small amount of Class A drugs and around £2000, all of which have been seized. The driver of the vehicle also tested positive for a drug wipe.

A 30-year-old man from Haslingden has been arrested on suspicion of drug driving, possession with intent to supply Class B drugs, money laundering and possession of Class A drugs.

Operation Warrior is Lancashire Police’s response to tackling serious and organised crime in Lancashire, supported by Police and Crime Commissioner Clive Grunshaw.

It aims to target the individuals and gangs involved in crime, as well as associated issues such as violence and intimidation, large scale drug supply, exploitation, and fraud, all of which can cause serious harm to local communities.
