20 individuals have been recognised for their outstanding contribution to Lancashire Constabulary’s East Division at the Divisional Commanders Commendations Ceremony.
Police officers, police staff, detectives and members of the public were among those honoured at the event, held on Wednesday 6th December at Lancashire Constabulary Headquarters in Hutton.
Award-winners from across the division, which covers Blackburn with Darwen, Burnley, Hyndburn, Pendle, the Ribble Valley and Rossendale, were recognised for their bravery and outstanding efforts.
Chief Superintendent and Divisional Commander, Mark Winstanley said: ““Our officers and staff do fantastic work day in and day out to keep our communities safe. However, there are occasions when individuals go over and above in the line of duty to make an outstanding contribution, and it is right that we should recognise and thank them when they do.
“There is no greater achievement than to be recognised by your colleagues in this way, and the Divisional Commander’s Commendations evening is a great opportunity for us to come together with families and friends to recognise some of the outstanding work that has taken place in East Lancashire.
“The recipients of these awards should be proud of their achievement and this year has once again seen some excellent examples of individuals and teams demonstrating bravery, dedication and commitment.
“I am very proud of them all, and they are a credit to the Constabulary. It is a privilege to be able to work alongside them each day. Thank you and well done.”
Those in attendance were recognised for their excellent work safeguarding vulnerable people, courageous and selfless actions to prevent serious injury to other colleagues and member of the public, quick thinking and CPR that saved a life, demonstrating bravery, leadership, and service in some difficult circumstances and for their investigative quality on cases.
