Burnley man jailed for drug offences

A man has been jailed for 40 months after we found a large amount of drugs and cash in an address in Burnley.

On 13th September 2024, the Burnley Task Force executed a warrant at an address on Ormerod Street Burnley. Following a search of the property, officers discovered a large quantity of cocaine, estimated to be worth around £24,000.

On Monday 14th October 2024, Naeem Iqbal, 28, of Ormerod Street, Burnley was sentenced to 40 months in prison after pleading guilty to possession with intent to supply a Class A drug.

PC Jess Lees, from Burnley Task Force, said: “Organised crime, including the production and supply of drugs, blights our communities and we will not tolerate it in Burnley. 

“We will continue to target those involved in this kind of activity to put them before the courts to make our streets safer.” 

Operation Warrior is Lancashire Police’s response to tackling serious and organised crime in Lancashire, supported by Police and Crime Commissioner Clive Grunshaw.

It aims to target the individuals and gangs involved in crime, as well as associated issues such as violence and intimidation, large scale drug supply, exploitation, and fraud, all of which can cause serious harm to local communities.
