On the 2nd October 2024, Blackburn Police carried out their second Road Ready Revamp operation, resulting in further progress toward improving road safety and accessibility in the town.

The coordinated effort saw officers and parking attendants out on patrol tackling the issue, seizing eight vehicles for abandonment under Section 99, as well as numerous fines being issued for cars being driven without an MOT and illegal parking.

The initiative has already made a visible impact, notably the entire right-hand side of Highfield Road in Blackburn being clear of abandoned vehicles, significantly improving access and cleanliness in the area.

Local Neighbourhood Inspector for Blackburn, Kathryn McIntyre said: “This operation is part of an on-going campaign to tackle these issues in the area.
