Wednesday, April 2, 2025

Blackburn Neighbourhood Police, in collaboration with several partner agencies, conducted a successful day of action on Tuesday 1st April 2025, addressing community concerns about abandoned and illegal vehicles, removing them from Lancashire streets.

Two locations were targeted during the operation, Dickens Street and Thornley Avenue, with 14 vehicles being seized, 4 cars being given tickets for parking on double yellow lines and on a solid white line. 16 people were also issued Community Protection Warnings for causing nuisance parking.

Local Neighbourhood Sergeant Tim Fryer said: “We know that vehicles being abandoned can be hazardous for our communities and businesses, as well as cause a real eyesore for our residents.

“We are glad to be able to remove these vehicles off our streets and will continue to work closely with our partners to tackle this issue.”
