Appeal for information following vehicle fires in Thornton Cleveleys

Saturday, March 23, 2024

An investigation is underway to establish the cause of multiple vehicle fires, after two cars and a van were found ablaze.

We were called just after 7:30am this morning (Saturday 23rd March) to a report of vehicle fires involving two cars and a van on Lyddesdale Avenue and the nearby Luton Road. We were assisted by the fire service who managed to put the fires out and thankfully no one was injured.

We’re appealing for the identify of the man pictured, as our CCTV enquiries have established that he was in the area at the time of the incident and we’d like to speak to him about it.

Inspector Andrew Crook of West Investigations Team said: “We’re at the early stages of our enquiries, so I’d ask anyone who has any information, knows the man pictured or saw anything suspicious, no matter how insignificant they think it may be, to make contact with us and let us know”.

If you have any CCTV, video doorbell footage or dash cam footage from the area, either at the time of the incident or in the hours before or after, we’d like to hear from you.

Please contact us on 101 quoting log 0281 of 23rd March.
