Pepé the cat reunited with his owners almost a decade after going missing

Friday, August 30, 2024

One very special cat, Pepé, has been reunited with his owners, Caroline and her daughter, almost a decade after he went missing 9 years ago.

On Wednesday 28th August Pepé was found by PC Liz Harrison as she was leaving work at our Motorway Post in Samlesbury, she was in the car park when she heard a meowing sound. She looked around and found a cat with an injured paw unable to walk on it, so she put him safely into a box and took him to a local vet.

Luckily, Pepé has a microchip, so the vets contacted his owners and left a voicemail message.

Not long after, an equally shocked and delighted Caroline rang the vets back saying Pepé was their cat who they reported missing 9 years ago.

All those years ago they shared an online appeal and put posters up but never heard anything, eventually losing hope. Caroline’s daughter was only 3 months old at the time.

Caroline and her daughter, now 9 years old, rushed down to Samlesbury to collect their beloved Pepé.

As you can see in this photo of PC Harrison, Caroline, her daughter, and Pepé, everyone was overjoyed to have a happy ending after all!
