Man dies in collision - Appeal

We are appealing for information after collision in which a man sadly died.

We were called shortly before 9.50pm yesterday (Friday, December 15) after the collision on Wanisher Lane at Ormskirk where a Renault Megane had left the road and collided with a tree.

The driver, a man in his 20s from Liverpool, suffered serious injuries and sadly died at the scene. A passenger, also a man in his 20s, suffered more minor injuries and was taken to hospital.

Sgt Paul McCurrie, of the Road Policing Unit, said: “Very sadly this collision has resulted in a young man losing his life and our thoughts are with his loved ones. I would appeal to anyone who saw the collision itself or the Renault Megane in the moments before to get in touch. I would also appeal to anyone who may have any dashcam footage to contact us.”
