Three charged in Fleetwood

Following a drugs warrant conducted by Wyre’s Neighbourhood Task Force in May 2023, after extensive enquiries, three men were charged yesterday (31st August 2023). 

Thomas Cawley, 27, of Forshaw Close, Fleetwood was charged with:

  • Possession with intent to supply class A drugs - heroin
  • Possession with intent to supply class A drugs - crack cocaine
  • Assault by beating of an emergency worker
  • Assault by beating of an emergency worker 

Kenneth Blinkhorn, 53, of Hatfield Avenue, Fleetwood was charged with:

  • Conspiracy to supply class A drugs - heroin
  • Conspiracy to supply class A drugs - crack cocaine
  • Possession with intent to supply class A drugs - heroin
  • Possession with intent to supply class A drugs - crack cocaine
  • Concerned in the supply of crack cocaine 

Paul Ellerker, 54, of Hatfield Avenue, Fleetwood was charged with:

  • Concerned in supply of a class A controlled drug - heroin
  • Concerned in supply of a class A controlled drug - crack cocaine 

After appearing at Blackpool Magistrates Court today (1st September 2023), Blinkhorn and Cawley have been bailed with conditions to appear back before Blackpool Magistrates Court on 29th September. 

Ellerker is due to appear back before Blackpool Magistrates on 5th September. 

Chief Superintendent Karen Edwards said: “These charges are the result of community intelligence and dedicated targeting of drug dealers by the Wyre Neighbourhood Task Force. 

“The message is clear, if you deal drugs or are involved in organised criminality in Wyre, my team will proactively target you and bring you to justice. 

“I want to thank the community for speaking out and standing up to make Fleetwood a safer place to live.”
