Police Cadets take the lead on burglary operation

Monday, March 13, 2023

On Saturday 11th March, 30 volunteer Police Cadets from Blackpool and Fylde took to the streets for an operation surrounding commercial burglaries.

Operation Bandits involved Cadets patrolling the Mowbray Drive area of Blackpool, due to the increase in reports of commercial burglaries in the area.

The Cadets conducted high visibility patrols and provided reassurance in the area to the locals. They were joined by a Sergeant, officers and PCSOs from the local policing teams.

PCSO Alison Williams said: “A huge thanks goes out to our volunteer Police Cadets who did a great job, despite the miserable weather!

“Local police officers have upped their regular patrols, both overtly and covertly, in the area over recent months. We hope operations like this will provide some extra community reassurance.

“We ask that if you spot anything suspicious then please call us on 101 or 999 if an incident is ongoing. Alternatively, if you have any information regarding these crimes, you can phone Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800555 111.”
