Preston takeaway served with closure order

Thursday, January 19, 2023

A 24-hour takeaway in Preston which has had multiple reports of serious anti-social behaviour has been served with a closure order for two months.

Partnership working between Preston Police and the local council saw magistrates grant the order under Section 80 of the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Police Act 2014, after numerous reports of assault, criminal damage and affray relating to Bianco 24/7 on Friargate.

A full closure is now active until 4th March 2023.

Inspector Bernie Coburn, from Preston Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “This closure order comes after months of hard work alongside our partners in the council to ensure that this behaviour is stopped and to protect our local community.

“I hope that this positive result sends out a clear message to those involved that we will take action against those who look to make others lives a misery with crime and anti-social behaviour”

There will be a license review hearing on 23rd January.
