A man has sadly died following a collision in Edenfield.
We were called around 6.55pm yesterday (Saturday, May 13) to a report of a collision on Blackburn Road.
A man was riding a scooter northbound when he left the carriageway, falling from the vehicle.
The man, aged in his 50s from Haslingden, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The road was closed for five hours while emergency services and accident investigators attended. The road was subsequently handed over to the council to complete remedial work before reopening.
We are appealing to any witnesses or any motorists with dashboard mounted camera footage to come forward.
Sgt Pete Fyans, of Lancashire Police’s Roads Policing Unit, said: “My thoughts are very much with the man’s family at this sad and difficult time.
“We are investigating the circumstances around the collision and would encourage anyone with information to come forward.
“If you can help, or have any dashcam footage, please get in touch.”
