We have arrested three men as part of an investigation into violent disorder in Blackburn.
Officers executed warrants in the Sunnybower, Highercroft, Pleckgate, Feniscowles, Whalley Range and Witton areas of Blackburn this morning (May 22).
The arrests relate to an incident at 4.59pm on March 24 in Lincoln Road where a silver Volkswagen Passat was deliberately driven into. The Passat and its driver were attacked by a group of men with weapons.
Thankfully the victim was not seriously injured.
Following enquiries three men from Blackburn have been arrested on suspicion of violent disorder and they remain in custody at this time. They are aged 23, 27 and 28.
We have also seized mobile phones, cannabis, cash, gold bars and weapons including a baton and a lock knife.
Temp/DS Cheryl Taylor, of Blackburn CID, said: “We will not tolerate violence of any kind on the streets of Blackburn. I hope these arrests send out a clear message that anybody contemplating engaging in such lawless behaviour should expect a knock at the door.”
