A man has sadly died following a serious road traffic collision.
We were called around 9.20pm on May 6 to a report of a collision involving three cars in Blackburn Road, close to the Old Mother Redcap pub in Hyndburn.
A Ford Mondeo had collided with an Audi car and a Skoda Octavia car, both travelling in the opposite direction.
The driver of the Mondeo, a 35-year-old man from Oswaldtwistle, suffered serious leg, facial and internal injuries.
He was taken to hospital for treatment but sadly died on Friday (May 12).
The driver of the Audi, a woman in her 20s, suffered spinal injuries and a passenger – also a woman in her 20s – suffered facial injuries. Both were taken to hospital.
The driver of the Skoda Octavia was not injured.
Sgt Michael Higginson of Lancashire Police’s Road Policing Unit said: “This is a sad and tragic incident and my thoughts are very much with the man’s family and friends at this difficult time.
“We continue to piece together exactly what happened and our investigation is ongoing.
