There are no reports of any serious injuries.
Nobody has been arrested at this stage. Enquiries are very much ongoing.
DI Mark Saunders, of Burnley CID, said: “This behaviour is completely unacceptable and will not be tolerated by the police. As you saw with the arrests made last week, if you are engaging in this kind of behaviour then you should expect a knock on the door.
“I know that law-abiding members of the community are absolutely appalled by it. I want to reassure them that patrols continued to be heightened in the area and work is ongoing to identify everybody involved.”
Anyone with information is asked to report it online via https://doitonline.lancashire.police.uk/ or call 101, quoting log 1653 of May 17, 2023.
