At 10.45pm we were made aware of cars driving at speed in Manchester Road towards Brierfield. At 11.10pm we received a report of a number of males fighting with weapons in the Lidl carpark in Nelson. A BMW X5 with extensive damage was found abandoned at the scene. At 11.43pm we received a report of males fighting with weapons in Westmoreland Street, heading towards Lomeshaye Road.

We were called to Hermitage Road, Rishton, near to the old paper mill, at 9pm on August 6, 2021, following reports the victim – who was 17 at the time – had been chased and attacked by a large group of youths. Our enquiries found that weapons used included machetes, knives and an axe. And that the youngest offenders were just 14 at the time the offence was committed.
Men arrested and weapons seized following Blackburn disorder

The arrests relate to an incident at 4.59pm on March 24 in Lincoln Road where a silver Volkswagen Passat was deliberately driven into. The Passat and its driver were attacked by a group of men with weapons.
