Witness appeal after Hambleton collision

Friday, September 2, 2022

We are appealing for witnesses and dashboard mounted camera footage following a serious injury collision in Hambleton today (Friday, September 2).

Police were called around 6.45am to a report of a vehicle in a field off Carr Lane.

A white Ford Focus was found with significant damage and the driver, a man in his 40s, was found with serious injuries and taken to Royal Preston Hospital for treatment.

The road was closed while emergency services attended the incident.

We believe the car was in the field for some time and are encouraging people to come forward with information.

Sgt Daniel Gunn, of Lancashire Police’s Tactical Operations, said: “We are appealing for any witnesses who saw a white Ford Focus being driven in the area in the early hours of this morning.

“Furthermore we would encourage anyone with dashcam footage to contact us.

“It's possible the driver and vehicle had been in the field for some time prior to the emergency services being contacted and we want to establish exactly what has happened.”

Anyone with information can call 101 or email [email protected] quoting log 0223 of September 2.
