Tuesday, September 13, 2022

We have now arrested a fourth man as we continue to investigate a firearms discharge in Oswaldtwistle.

Police were called in the early hours of Sunday, August 28th following reports that a number of people had attended an address on Monarch Street in the town where a shotgun was fired.

Three vehicles and the front window of a property were damaged but thankfully no-one was injured.

Yesterday (Monday, September 12th) we arrested a 29-year-old man on suspicion of firearms offences. He has now been released on bail.

Three men aged 35, 36 and 39 arrested last month are currently on police bail while enquiries continue.

Det Sgt Iain Czapowski, of East CID, said: “We have now made a number of arrests in connection with our investigation and our enquiries are very much continuing.

“I would continue to appeal to anyone who has any information which could assist to come forward and contact police.”
