Appeal for information after serious collision in Weeton

Did you witness a collision in Weeton yesterday (Monday, February 7th)?

We are appealing for information after a man was seriously injured.

We were called around 10.15am to a report of a two vehicle collision involving a BMW Z3 and a DAF Box Truck on Mythop Road.

The driver of the BMW, a man in his 30s from Thornton Cleveleys, suffered multiple serious injuries to his back, chest and legs. He was taken to Royal Preston Hospital for treatment.

The driver of the truck, a man in his 40s from Ashton-under-Lyne, suffered minor neck injuries. 

Police are appealing for information and are keen to trace anyone who was in the area around the time and may be able to assist with our enquires.

Sgt Helen Parkinson of Lancashire Police said: “I would encourage anyone who saw what happened to please make contact with us as soon as possible.

"We would also ask anyone with dashboard mounted camera footage which may have covered the collision or the moments prior to come forward.”
