Fifteen charged after major drugs raids

Friday, June 17, 2022

Fifteen people have been charged by police following a series of raids aimed at tackling the supply of Class A drugs across Preston and Chorley.

Earlier this week, officers from Lancashire Police executed a number of warrants as part of Operation Superior, following reports drugs, including heroin and crack cocaine, were being dealt across the area.

Between Tuesday and Thursday police raided 20 properties, with suspected Class A drugs, cash, mobile phones and weapons seized.

Det Ch Insp Zoe Russo, of Preston Police, said: “This week’s arrests and subsequent charges are part of the proactive work we are carrying out to tackle suspected drug dealing being committed in and around Preston.

"Organised crime destroys communities and the lives of those taking drugs and those who are often coerced into dealing them.

"The gangs who operate these lines, use young and vulnerable people to do their dirty work for them and we need to put a stop to this.

“Our work to remove organised criminal gangs and bring them to justice will continue on a daily basis and I would ask anyone who has information about such activity to come forward so we can find those responsible and bring them to justice.”

If you have concerns about drug dealing in your area you can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, or call Lancashire Police on 101. Always call 999 if a crime is in progress.
