Appeal for witnesses after cyclist is injured in collision near Chorley

We are appealing for information after a cyclist was injured following a collision with a car in Bretherton.

Police were called around 1.25pm on Thursday (October 21) to a report of an accident at the junction of Back Lane and Sarah Lane.

A 39-year-old man riding a bike had been involved in a collision with a Mitsubishi Shogun car. The rider suffered a bleed on the brain, as well as a broken wrist, arm and fractured pelvis. He was taken to hospital for treatment.

The driver of the Mitsubishi, a man in his 70s from Croston, was not injured.

Police are appealing for witnesses and urging anyone who saw what happened to come forward with information.
