Last week we appealed for help locating a ‘good samaritan’ who stopped to help a woman following a serious sexual assault in Chorley. We are pleased to say the man has made contact and has now been spoken to by detectives.

However, we are continuing to appeal for information about the incident itself and are asking anybody who saw it, or has any other information about it, to get in touch straight away.

In September, our colleagues at North Yorkshire Police sadly found a body in the Bolton Abbey area. Although no formal identification has taken place, we believe it to be 48-year-old Mr Metcalfe.
