Appeal after man stabbed

We are appealing for information after a man was stabbed in Darwen.

Police were called by the ambulance service at shortly after 4.30am today to a report that a man had suffered stab wounds to the leg. The incident happened near to the Auto-Tek garage on Cotton Hall Street.

The victim, a man in his 40s. was taken to the Royal Preston Hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

Detectives have launched an enquiry and are appealing for witnesses.

Det Insp John McNamara, of East CID, said: “This incident has left a man with some serious injuries and I would ask that anyone who has any information contact us.

“I would be especially keen to hear from anyone who may have CCTV, dashcam or mobile phone footage to get in touch.”

No-one has been arrested at this time and efforts are on-going to identify and arrest the offender.
