A man is due to appear at court today (Thursday, January 21) for an offence of perverting the course of justice.
Around 5.30am on September 18, 2019, police were called following reports the post master had been accosted by two men at the post office in Preston Old Road, Clifton. A quantity of cash was reported as stolen.
Following enquiries a man was arrested on suspicion of theft and later released under investigation.
Jitendra Karia, 48, of Stanagate, Clifton, has been summoned to appear at court for the offence of committing an act with the intent to pervert the course of justice by making a false complaint of robbery. He is due to appear at Preston Magistrates’ Court today (January 21).
