POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a collision left a child seriously injured.
The collision happened on Marlton Road in Blackburn at about 9.40pm yesterday (Thursday, January 28th) when a Vauxhall Movano van hit the boy, six.
The child suffered serious injuries and was taken to Manchester Children’s Hospital by ambulance. Their injuries are thankfully not thought to be life threatening.
A 33-year-old man from Blackburn has been arrested on suspicion of driving while unfit through drink or drugs and remains in custody.
Sgt Craig Booth, of Tac Ops, said: “This collision resulted in some very serious injuries to a young child and I would appeal to anyone who saw the collision or the manner of driving of the van prior to the collision, or who has any information, CCTV or dashcam footage, to get in touch.”
