Update: Pair charged after taxi driver left seriously injured in Colne assault

A man and woman have been charged in connection with a serious assault of a taxi driver in Colne.

The incident happened on Tuesday (February 9th) at around 7:45pm on Ruskin Avenue and left the victim, a man in his sixties, with severe neck injuries. He remains in a serious but stable condition in hospital.

Liam O’Callaghan, 23, of Ruskin Avenue and Jamie Birkett, 21, of Hope Street, Nelson have both been charged with grievous bodily harm (GBH) with intent and will appear before Preston Magistrates’ Court this morning (Saturday, February 13th).
