Detectives investigating a serious assault in Skelmersdale are continuing to appeal for the public’s help.
Police were called at about 7.30am on Sunday, April 4 following a report a man had been found with serious injuries near Ferndale, Birch Green. The male had been making his way to work before being targeted. Enquiries suggest the incident took place near to Firbeck.
The man, aged 37, was taken to Aintree Hospital for treatment and is now recovering at home.
An investigation is on-going and detectives have arrested two people on suspicion of attempted murder.
A 17-year-old and 19-year-old from Skelmersdale were arrested last week and have been bailed pending further enquiries.
Det Sgt Karen Harrsion, of Skelmersdale CID, said: “While we have made two arrests our enquiries are very much continuing and I would appeal to anyone who has any information or footage which could assist to get in touch with us.
“The victim of this assault received some really serious injuries and continues to recover.”
