A man has been charged by police investigating a number of robbery and theft offences in the Fylde coast area.
On Friday morning (October 9), around 11.30am, a woman in her 70s was walking on St Annes Road East in St Annes when a man allegedly approached from behind and grabbed her handbag, pulling her to the ground. The woman refused to let go of the bag with the man making off from the scene.
Around 1.35pm on Friday a woman in her 80s reported being sat in her parked car in Beach Road, Cleveleys, when a man opened the rear passenger door and stole her handbag.
Police were later called around 4pm on Friday to reports a woman in her 60s had her hand bag stolen by a man in Headroomgate Road, St Annes.
On Saturday (October 10), around 5pm, a woman in her 80s reported she was sat in her car on Cleveland Road, Lytham, when a man approached the vehicle and took her hand bag from the back seat.
Following enquiries two people were later arrested by police in the Fleetwood area after a vehicle was stopped by officers.
Marcus Ford, 50, of Thorsby Avenue, Hyde, has been charged with two offences of robbery, theft from a shop, driving a motor vehicle dangerously, theft from a motor vehicle, making off without making payment and handling stolen goods. He is due to appear at Blackpool Magistrates' Court today (Monday, October 12).
A 30-year-old woman from Hyde was arrested on suspicion of theft from a vehicle and later released under investigation pending further enquiries.
