Firearm discharged in Preston

Thursday, October 15, 2020

We are appealing for witnesses after a firearm was discharged and hit a parked car in Preston.

It happened just after 8:35pm on Monday (October 12th) when a white saloon type car was driven along Ashton Bank Way and shots were fired from the vehicle, hitting a parked black Fiat 500.

The white car then made off from the area.

DI George Binns from Preston Police said: “We believe that the attack was targeted and is related to an on-going dispute between two groups of people. However, the offender(s) have ended up causing damage to an unrelated vehicle. Thankfully no one was injured.

“We need anyone who saw or heard what happened to come forward. Similarly, if you saw the white car involved in the area around the time of the incident, we need to speak to you.”

A 35-year-old man from Preston was arrested on Tuesday (October 13th) on suspicion of possession of firearms offences. He has since been bailed pending further enquiries until 10.11.20.
