Driver sought after motorcyclist injured in Blackburn

We are appealing for witnesses after a motorcyclist was injured after being knocked off his bike in a Blackburn collision.

It happened at around 8:35am last Wednesday (March 18th) on Haslingden Old Road close to the Britannia roundabout and also involved a silver car, which made off from the scene.

The motorcycle rider, a 38-year-old local man, suffered a broken arm and wrist, as well as a fractured leg. He was taken to Royal Preston Hospital but has since been discharged.

The driver of the car made off from the scene and is being sought by officers.

PC Rosie Lovett from Blackburn Police said: “If you know who was driving or you witnessed the incident, please come forward and speak to us.

“I would also like to appeal to the driver directly and urge them to search their conscience. A man has been badly injured and so I am asking them to do the right thing and make contact with us.”
