Appeal following fatal collision in Brookhouse

Sunday, July 26, 2020

We are appealing for witnesses or anybody who has dashcam or CCTV footage following a collision in Brookhouse in which a motorcyclist sadly died.

We were called shortly after 6.25pm yesterday (Saturday, July 25th) to the A683 between Brookhouse and Caton to reports a Honda motorcycle and a Ford Puma car had collided. The motorbike had been travelling in the direction of Caton at the time, while the Ford had been travelling in the opposite direction.

Emergency services attended but the rider of the motorbike, a man from Morecambe, aged in his 60s, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

The road was closed for almost four hours while collision investigation officers attended the scene.

We would now like to speak to anybody who witnessed the collision and has not yet been spoken to by police. We would also like to hear from anybody with dashcam or CCTV footage which shows the collision, or shows any of the vehicles involved in the collision in the moments before it happened.

Sgt Laura Kendall, from the Lancashire Police TacOps Team, said: “First and foremost our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died. They are being supported by specially-trained officers and we send them our deepest condolences.

“An investigation is now underway to establish exactly what happened and we would like to hear from anybody who witnessed the collision or who has footage showing either the collision or the moments prior.

“Whatever information you have, please get in touch with us as soon as possible.”

Anybody with information is asked to contact us on 101, quoting log number 1279 of July 25th.
