We are appealing for information after a woman was attacked and had her handbag stolen during a robbery in Bispham.

Around 6pm on August 8 a woman in her 40s was walking from Bispham village car park in All Hallows Road towards Tesco Express when she was approached from behind by a man.

The man pushed the woman to the ground, knocking off her glasses, before stealing her Cath Kidston handbag, pictured, containing bank cards and cash.

He made off in the direction of the Red Lion Pub, with the victim suffering minor injuries to her knees.

Police are appealing for information and believe a number of people will have seen what happened.

PC Andrew Potts, of Blackpool Police, said: “This was a shocking and shameless attack on a woman walking to the shops.

“The victim has been left very shaken and we are appealing to members of the public for their help in locating the offender.

“The Cath Kidston handbag which was stolen is quite distinctive. Did you see someone running away from the scene with the bag? Can you help our investigation? Please get in touch immediately.”

Anyone with information can contact police on 101 or email [email protected] quoting log 0625 of August 9.
