Cyclist injured in Blackpool

We are appealing for witnesses after a cyclist suffered serious injuries following a collision in Blackpool.

Around 7.35am yesterday (Tuesday, September 10) a 52-year-old man was riding his bike on East Park Drive when he fell, colliding with the road.

The cyclist, from Blackpool, suffered head injuries and suspected fractures to his ribs and shoulder. He was taken to Blackpool Victoria Hospital for treatment and later transferred to Royal Preston Hospital. He is currently in a poorly condition.

Police are appealing for information and are keen to trace any witnesses.

Sgt Michael Belfield, of Lancashire Police’s Tactical Operations, said: “We are keen to speak to anyone who saw the collision.

“East Park Drive is a busy road and I believe a number of people will have seen what happened. Please get in touch if you can help with our enquiries.”
