Detectives investigating a fire which resulted in the deaths of two people have arrested two men and a woman.
Emergency services were called to a report of a fire at the Gordon Working Men’s Club on Springfield Street, Morecambe at about 2.50pm on Wednesday October 9th.
John McCartney, 60 and Philip Townsend, known locally as Tony, 70, were rescued from the building by firefighters but sadly died a short time later. Our thoughts remain with their families and friends.
A joint investigation into the cause of the blaze between police and Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service and the local authority has been on-going and today three arrests were made.
