Arson destroys caravan and damages car

We are appealing for information after a caravan and stolen car were damaged in a Blackburn fire.

It happened at around 9:40pm on Saturday (June 2nd) when a large static caravan was set ablaze on St James Street. It was completely destroyed and the fire spread to a nearby Nissan Primera believed to have been stolen from an address on Warwick Close on Thursday, May 16th.

Damage was also caused to nearby gates and windows at adjacent properties.

DC Fiona Hall from Blackburn Police said: “We believe that the fire was started deliberately and need anyone who saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area before or just after the fire to make contact with us.

“Similarly, if you know anything about who may have been involved, please come forward.”
