Two injured in Edenfield collision

We are appealing for information after two people were injured in a collision in Edenfield yesterday morning.

It happened at 6:30am on Thursday (18 July) on Rochdale Road and involved a Skoda Octavia and Vauxhall Astra which were travelling in opposite directions.

The driver of the Astra, a 30 year old woman from Rochdale, suffered a fractured wrist and fractured ankle.

The driver of the Octavia, a 27 year old man from Bacup received a head injury.

Both were taken to Salford Royal Hospital for treatment.

The road was closed for over six hours to facilitate collision investigation. 

Sgt Mick Belfield of Lancashire’s Tactical Operations Division said: “We’re working to establish the circumstances surrounding collision and need anyone with information or any relevant video footage to get in touch.”
