Teenager injured after collision at Blackburn park

We are appealing for information after a car being driven by a teenager collided with a pillar at a Blackburn Park.

It happened at around 9:24pm on Saturday (July 27th) when a stolen Toyota Corolla being driven by a 14-year-old boy was exiting Witton Park towards Tower Road. It collided with a large brick built gate post containing a metal pillar.

The boy suffered serious pelvic injuries. A passenger, also aged 14, suffered a collar bone injury. Both boys were taken to hospital where they remain.

No one has been arrested at this time.

Sgt Craig Booth from Lancashire’s Tactical Operations said: “Our investigation is focusing on how these boys, particularly the driver, has ended up at the wheel of this car and why it went into the gate post.

“If you saw or heard anything in the lead up to the incident or you witnessed it as it happened, please get in contact.”
