Burglary at Carnforth supermarket

We are appealing for information following a burglary in Carnforth this morning.


We were called at 01:16 hours today (Thursday 4 April) to reports of the incident at Booths supermarket on Scotland Road in Carnforth.


It was reported that entry had been forced to the shop and that offenders had left with a cash machine from inside the building.


The offenders are described as five males who were wearing dark clothing.


It is believed they left in a 4x4 vehicle with a trailer.


The vehicle was later found crashed and abandoned on the A6 in the Heversham area of Cumbria. The cash machine was recovered from the road close to the vehicle.


Nobody has been arrested at this stage and our enquiries are ongoing.
