DETECTIVES are appealing for information after a man was attacked in Blackburn.
The victim was left with serious injuries following the assault and is currently receiving treatment in hospital. The injuries are not life threatening.
Police were called at shortly before 1am this morning (Thursday, September 6th) to reports that a man had been stabbed in the Wensley Road area.
Officers attended and found the victim, a 23 year old man, with injuries including stab wounds and cuts and bruising.
A 25 year old man was arrested a short time later on suspicion of wounding and is currently in custody.
Enquiries are continuing and detectives are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.
Detective Inspector Mark Gillibrand, of Blackburn CID, said: “This assault has left a man with some significant injuries and I would appeal to anyone who has any information which could assist in our investigation to get in touch.
