Gang try to steal ATM in Haslingden

Thursday, November 29, 2018

We are appealing for witnesses after an attempted cashpoint theft in Haslingden.

It happened at just before 2:35am yesterday (Wednesday, November 28th) at the Co-Op store on John Street when four offenders have cut through some shutters and forced entry to the store.

They have dragged the ATM outside with some chains attached to an orange Transit van causing significant damage to the store entrance. They eventually left the van with the cash machine hanging out of it and made off.

DS Amanda Bleazard from East CID said: “Thankfully the group didn’t manage to get away with any money, however, they did cause a lot of damage.

“Did you see an orange Ford Transit van being driven in the area at the time? Did you see anyone suspicious just before or in the days leading up to the incident? If you have any information that could assist us, please get in contact.”

You can email 3721@lancashire.pnn.police.uk or call 01254 353870 . If you fail to get an answer, please dial 101 quoting log number 0098.
