Appeal after woman seriously injured in RTC in Clifton

We are appealing for witnesses after a collision in Clifton on Sunday (20th May).

Police were called at 16:50 to reports a car had collided with a wall on Church Lane.

The vehicle –  a Silver BMW 320i – was travelling along the road in the direction of SALWICK when the driver lost control of the vehicle , and collided  with a brick wall.

One passenger suffered serious injuries to her neck and had to be cut from the vehicle. She was taken to Royal Preston Hospital where she remains in a serious but stable condition.

Two other passengers were treated at hospital for minor injuries but have since been discharged.

The driver of the car fled the scene but has now been located..

PC Lee Taylor of Lancashire’s Road Policing Unit said: “This collision has resulted in one woman receiving significant injuries.
“This has happened in a rural location, but we’d appeal to anyone with any information, no matter how small, to please let us know. If you were travelling on this road around the time of the collision and have any dash cam footage, we would also be interested in viewing this.”
