Witness appeal launched after Blackpool collision

We are appealing for information after a pedestrian was seriously injured in a collision in Blackpool.

Police were called at 22:30 on Friday 23rd March to reports of a collision on Raikes Parade at the junction with Leamington Road.

It involved a London Taxis TX1 Bronze and a pedestrian.

The pedestrian, a man in his 50s, suffered serious injuries to his face, head and back and was taken to Royal Preston Hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.  

The driver of the taxi, a man in his 50s, was uninjured.

We are appealing for information following the collision.

Sergeant Adam Crossley of Lancashire’s Road Policing Unit said: “We are working to establish the circumstances of the collision and would appeal to anyone who witnessed it, to come forward.”
