Monday, March 19, 2018

We are appealing for information after a 10-year-old girl was injured in a collision in Ribbleton Lane, Preston.

At around 7.20pm on Saturday March 10, the girl was cycling to a local shop with her father when she was struck by a small, dark coloured vehicle, which failed to stop.

The vehicle had turned off Ribbleton Lane into Hermon Street when it collided with the youngster.

She was taken to Royal Preston Hospital with serious leg injuries.

Sgt Chris Evans, of Lancashire Constabulary’s Road Policing Unit, said: “Fortunately the girl is now recovering at home with her family, after a few days in hospital, however we do need to speak to the driver of the vehicle.
"If you were in the area and saw the collision, or a small, dark coloured car, please contact us.”

Anyone with information is asked to call  101 quoting log ref 1300 of March 10.
