Appeal after man seriously injured in Hapton collision

We are appealing for witnesses after a man was seriously injured in a collision in Hapton last night (Thursday 8th March).

At 23:00 hours a Subaru Impreza was found on Accrington Road with extensive damage. It is believed the vehicle, which was travelling from Hapton towards junction 9 of the M65, lost control and collided with some trees.

The driver, a man in his 20s, was found outside of the vehicle with suspected head injuries. He was taken to Royal Preston Hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

Sergeant Lee Harris of Lancashire’s Road Policing Unit, said: “We’re working to establish the circumstances surrounding the collision and would urge anyone with information to speak to us. A man has suffered serious injury and is currently in hospital. Anyone who saw the collision, or the vehicle prior to the collision, is asked to contact police.”
