Prison absconder wanted by police

A 33-year-old man is wanted after absconding from prison.

Simon Kierans, formerly of Industry Street, Rochdale, absconded from HMP Kirkham yesterday (Thursday, January 11).

He is described as white, 5ft 9in tall, of slim build with brown hair and blue eyes. He has a tattoo on his left leg of the name ‘Paddy’, as well as scars on his nose, right eyebrow, head and right upper arm.

Kierans, who was sentenced to two and half years in prison for offences of burglary and making false representations, has links to the Lancashire and Greater Manchester areas.

Anyone with information is advised not to approach him, but contact police immediately.

A Lancashire Police spokesman, said: “We are appealing for information leading to the arrest of Simon Kierans.

“Kierans is wanted after absconding from HMP Kirkham.

“If you see Kierans, do not approach him, but instead contact police.”
